I’ve finally figured out how to podcast, or at least how to add an audio file to a blog post using the nifty plugin Audio Player. It only took me an hour! Chuffed, I am.

OK, so here’s podcast #2 (actually the first one I recorded). It’s about a Japanese soccer player called Yuji Nakazawa, now captain of the Japanese national soccer team. He will take his team to Johannesburg next year to play in the World Cup Finals. The mini documentary was shown on Japanese TV on Sunday, Dec. 20th, 2009, between 6 – 6:30 p.m. on the ABC channel (just before the annual M-1 comedy competition). The episode I refer to in the podcast, when Nakazawa changed his mind about retiring from international football, took place sometime between July 2006 and March 2007.

The Japanese basketball player who made it in the NBA and whom I refer to in the podcast is Yuta Tabuse. (This Sports Illustrated article does a good job of describing Tabuse’s soft-spoken yet mature character. It’s easy to understand why Nakazawa was impressed and inspired.)
